I find this on my reading path:

“Be patient in suffering. Do not let its lessons fall to the ground while you grumble over God’s hard gifts. Trust Him and learn the deepest things of all.”

–John Piper, Taste and See (p 283)

Over dinner the other night, Reagan told us how in class that day he learned about the kissing hand. We of course were curious to what exactly he meant. After hearing him out I picked up his hand and said, “you mean like this?” and kissed the center of his palm. To which he replied, “Ah, that made my heart tingle.” And Daniel said, “Hold on there Casanova!” Seriously, where does he (Reagan) come up with these things?

Last night was Back to School Night. On his desk was a yellow piece of construction paper. On it was his hand print in bright blue paint with a red heart at the center of it, along with this poem:

Kissing Hand Poem
A piece of me I give to you.
This special heart because, “I Love You.”
The heart is you, the hand is me.
It shows that we are family.

Thanks Gals

Thanks to my sister and Krystin for kicking off my birthday week with a bang!

We had pedicures, ate at my favorite place (Chipotle), saw a movie (with my name in it, how appropriate :-) “Julie and Julia”) and they even ordered me a gluten-dairy free cake (which was so yummy, thanks Forsted!). But most importantly, they brought together my friends (and I missed those who couldn’t come) to share the night with me. Love you all so very much. Thanks for an amazing night.

I tried to get details out of him…but he is a little man. :-)

Last week was my sweet little niece, Jenna’s first week of kindergarten. I was lucky enough to get to pick her up from school two days last week. Both days she asked if we were going to see “Reagan the Boy” and both days we went to Sonic after school for a special treat. We had a blast. It was great spending that special time with her. Love you girl!

Daniel and I really liked this movie. I know it won’t be for everyone.
But man was it good!

I read all of these: Blue Bloods, Masquerade and Revelations by Melissa De La Cruz.

They were so fun! But I am sad I have to wait until October for the fourth in the series to come out. I am dying to know how it all will end!

Monday morning, the first day of First Grade. He asked me if we could read his Bible before school. Absolutely. “Not from the picture one. I wan to use my big Bible.” Sure thing, what do you want to read about Reagan, “David and Goliath.” On the way to school I asked him why he picked that story today, “Because I need to be strong to be in first grade like David was small and strong.” You are strong baby. I love you. I am so proud of you. You are going to do great today.

I walked home encouraged by my son.

I love having this talent in the family. Thanks again Ashley!
